From agriculture to transportation, entertainment to medicine, and banking to social media, artificial intelligence (AI) is changing how humans do practically everything. We experience AI in our daily lives through our fitness trackers, home digital assistant systems, and curated news services, to name a few examples. For talent development, this is no different.
But does this change anything for Instructional Designers? Does it change ID methods, models, and techniques that have served us well for decades?
Margie Meacham joined us to help answer some of these questions. And maybe we don't know the answers yet.
The good news is there are already instructional projects and programs using AI within Talent Development. Margie helped the United Nations build their first AI driven learning consultant chatbot and will talk about her experience.

About Margie Meacham
Margie Meacham works at the intersection of neuroscience and artificial intelligence to enhance performance. She first became interested in the brain when she struggled with undiagnosed dyslexia as a child. Through trial and error, she eventually taught herself how to read and became her high school valedictorian, graduating magna cum laude from Centenary University, and earning her m\Master’s degree in education.
Meacham started her professional career in high-tech sales, and when she was promoted to director of training, she discovered her passion for teaching and helping people learn. She became one of the first corporate trainers to use video conferencing and e-learning and started her own consulting company to enhance learning through science and technology. Today she helps organizations marry cognitive neuroscience with emerging AI technology.
Margie’s books include Brain Matters: How to Help Anyone Learn Anything Using Neuroscience and AI in Talent Development: Capitalize on the AI Revolution to Transform the Way You Work, Learn, and Live.
“Understanding what happens in the brain is making us better leaders, teachers, parents, and employees. We have no limits to what we can accomplish with our wonderful brains— the best survival machines ever built.”
